There are areas where I live in Washington state that could be called high desert. Dry, rocky, scattered ponderosa pines trees and scrubby undergrowth. Burrowing creatures. I think places develop their own stories and mythology. Walking around out in these areas, I can begin to imagine some of them.

Created this song from recording of a jam with Creatures Once bandmate Monstrosus. I kept what we did, and today I added some live drums and vocals for some fun. Not super happy with the vox, but it was an experiment, and keeping in for this version. I didn't have the high desert landscape in mind when I made this at first, but maybe something about the bass in this, or some words that popped into mind put it in my head. Contemplating the high desert and its big expansive stories, with some more beneath the surface. Now time to go walk around our there in this unusually warm October.
